Did you know that this month Round Rock is hosting the first ever UPA sanctioned TX high school state tournament? It is April 17-18, 2010 in Old Settlers Park. Schools from all over the state will be traveling to our back yard to play in the two-day tournament. This event will be huge: a huge step for high school ultimate in this state, a huge experience for the individual teams participating, and a huge effort to host such a massive event. In order to make this event a success and promote the growth of the youth division, how about you volunteer to help out? You'll be catching some wicked ultimate in the process.

The weekend kicked off Friday with a spirited mixer and insightful coaches and captains meeting. The mixer was well attended and concluded with an outdoor flutterguts tournament. The captains and coaches clinic featured three key speakers: Alex Korbb, Lou Borruss, and Austin's own Cara Crouch. The meeting also presented Michelle Ng's innovative "College Women's Ultimate Resource Manual," a compilation of articles offering a wide range of advice on program and player development.
