The Austin Scoober
January 2010
|
Ahhhh January (more like Brrrrrr). Who made a New Year’s resolution to throw frisbees better?? Personally, I’m going to work on my inside flick and left hand backhand (I’m a righty). Improved disc skills is a goal you surely can keep with all of the pick-up happening around town. Check out the UPLA pickup page for times and locations for everyday of the week.

Building an International Ultimate Community
by Amanda Berens
What can be better than ultimate on the patchy fields of grass and clay of central Texas? And there’s nothing the thrower can do about it – contesting the call accomplishes nothing more than a do-over, and there’s no instant replay to dispute it.

The Man Behind the Mask?
by Mia Iseman
If you were at the party for Celebration 2009, you may have had the pleasure of seeing certain luchadores battle it out in the ring. As the person in charge of paying the wrestlers their winnings at the end of the night, many have approached me in awe of one specific wrestler: El Payaso. I sat down with his friend, Chad Stewart, to ask him a few questions and see if I might get any closer to the man behind the mask.
