UPLA Middle School and High School Winter League
Austin area middle schools and high schools will be competing this winter in an inter-scholastic Ultimate league. Games are scheduled to begin in February and run through March leading up to a middle school Ultimate tournament (date to be announced) and the 2011 Texas High School Ultimate Championship on April 9-10 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.

Celebrate! Celebrate! Dance to the music! Just don't do it in the end zone after you score. Or, maybe you should. Hmmm... errh? That conundrum is at the heart of a mild debate that's occurring within the culture of Ultimate. No, it's not a raging controversy — like whether or not Nalgene bottles are bad for the environment (or for your internal organs). But it has been known to generate some... shall we say, spirited discussions on occasion.

How to Feed and Care for your Newb

Everyone starts as a beginner; not everyone ends up a master. There's a wide gulf between the two, filled entirely with but one thing. Showing up.
Ultimate isn't exactly hard-pressed for beginners. Almost everyone has thrown a frisbee at least a few feet in their lifetime, and the fun's practically infectious. At pickup, there's a good social scene on the sideline, coed almost all the time, easy subbing for those not in perfect shape, (more than) a little showboating in the throws-- let's face it, we're damn sexy to the passerby.
